Fun Fitness Friday 5/17

funfitnessfriday

Hi Everyone!  I can’t believe we are half way through May.  Are you ready to put on that bathing suit?  I thought I’d put together a workout to help you flatten up that tummy!  Do this workout 3 times per week and pair it with the Isagenix Cleanse for awesome results!  Message me to get your Isagenix!

VsitFlat Tummy Workout!

5 V-Sits with 10 Twists at the top (Roll-up in to a V-sit, then do 10 Twists.  You can put your feet down if needed for the twists)

10 Reverse Crunches (Head, shoulders and back rest on the ground.  Lift legs up in the air, lift hips off the ground slightly and lower back down easy.  Repeat.  If you can, lower legs between lifts.)

6 High Low Plank (Start in a high plank, push-up position on your toes.  Be sure your hands are directly under your shoulders.  Drop to your left elbow, then to your right elbow.  Then lift back up with your left hand, then your right hand.  That’s 1.  Then, repeat starting with your right elbow.)

20 Bicycles Slow (Lie on your back.  Bend your knees and lift your feet off the ground.  Extend your right leg out just above the ground.  Cross your right shoulder to your left knee.  Then switch legs and shoulder.  Hold each switch for a 2 count.  If you need to, put the foot of the extended leg flat on the ground with the knee bent.)

20 Cross Over Mountain Climbers (Start in a high plank position.  Lift your left foot off the ground and cross your left knee under your body towards the right elbow.  Then, switch by running your feet.  You can walk it in and out of needed.)

Do the above for 3 sets.  Then end with a 1 Minute Plank on your elbows.  (In the plank, be sure your shoulders are over your elbows.  Keep your shoulders, spine and hips in a straight line.  You can lift your hips a bit to protect your lower back.  Pull your abdominals up and don’t forget to breathe!  If you drop before the 1 minute, go right back up :)

Have Fun!!!

My Transformation – Competition Day

transformationpic

April 13th came as I knew it would.  It was time for me to put on my itty bitty bikini and walk gracefully (as possible) across the stage and show off my hard work.  Was my body perfect, no.  Will it ever be, no.  Who’s is?  But I was really damn proud of myself.  And through this journey, I have met so many amazing people.  And I can’t thank them enough… So here’s a quick shout out to them.

My Husband, Will – For all his support and taking all the pics!

Andi Martin – for building confidence in me, teaching me how to walk and introducing me to Isagenix

Kristen Vermillion – my Team Savage coach.  She was my accountability and coach through the last 4 weeks.

Cathy Savage Fitness – For keeping my inspiration alive and letting me be a part of an awesome team

Sally Shattuck Massage Therapy – For helping me work out the kinks :)

JennMarie Salon Spa – For helping me feel like a princess on competition day!  She did my hair and make-up.

Danielle’s Make-Up Studio – For my airbrush tan.

So the night before the competition, I had to go to the host hotel and check-in.  It was nice to see some of the competitors there.  I really didn’t know what to expect.  It was very crowded.  This is was a natural show, so I had to first submit a pee sample.  Then, I checked in and received my t-shirt.  I guess once you have the t-shirt, it’s official.

Once we got home, I was really tired but so anxious.  I still had to put my competition tan on.  So thankfully Will helped me with this. Although, it wasn’t has complicated as I thought it would be.  Looking back, I definitely need to be darker for the next show.

That morning I put another coat of tanner on.  I couldn’t shower cause it would wash off the tanner.  And we couldn’t wear deodorant because it will react with the tanner and turn the skin green around that area.  At 6:30am, I met Jenn Scott at her studio and she did my hair and make-up.  It was so fun!

Will drove me downtown and dropped me off for the meeting.  I didn’t know anyone so I sat in the bleachers by myself.  There were so many beautiful fit tan people!  After the meeting, we immediately went to the basement of the theatre and had to put our bikinis on.  The judges had to check and make sure there was enough material.  From there, it was just a waiting game.  But finally, my time came and was show time!  My heart was racing and I felt like I was about to strap in for a really exciting roller coaster ride.  However, once on stage the nerves went away.  I had a blast up there.  I didn’t make the top 5.  But that fueled me even more to work harder.  I don’t like to not win.  But I really felt good about my transformation.  I knew 12 Weeks before, there was no way I’d even go to the beach in a bikini.  So I knew this was just the beginning.  And I am going to get in even better shape.  My next goal is to compete in Figure.  So stay tuned for my transformation into a Figure Competitor… This is just the beginning!

Here’s my final before and after picture!
